Type Mid-bulk transport (Class B)
Size: According to this website; Serenity is "63 metres long as compared with Star Trek's Danube class Runabout at 23.1 metres long". It's a transport vessel and for comparison, you could park several Firefly class ships in the hanger of the Starship Enterprise.
Typical Crew Size: In Firefly, the ship required four people to actually run the thing. Kaylee, the mechanic, Wash, the pilot, Mal the Captain and Zoe as his second. Additional members were 'added' as they moved forward with their enterprise. Jayne was added for muscle, Simon for a doctor and by default his sister came along, and Book endeared himself and Inara rents a shuttle and grants the crew access to many areas they would not have had without her on board.
There are five crew cabins, and the ship can carry up to 18 passengers.
